surfcaster_27
I recently had my Penn Torque II 5500bls and Penn Torque 5bls serviced but for some reason I cannot get a perfect line lay now. Both reels were machine spooled so that's not the issue. Ive had the Torque 5 since 2012 so I know the deal with the shims under the spool to get perfect line lay but, If I remove the shims under the spool the spool bottoms out on the rotor cup and if I add one shim it leaves a small gap at the top of the top of the spool with loose line bunching up causing wind knots. Would rotor shims fix this issue ? Thanks Edited March 26, 2021 by surfcaster_27
PENN Fishing
Hi Surfcaster_27, Sorry to hear your Torque reels are giving you trouble. Yes, sometimes a shim under the rotor can correct the line lay. If you like we can get your reels back in here and have a look. I will send you an email.
