Lateral Line
I'll bet the bite will start with this high water and rising temps. I'll bet next week.... reports or not. I got fish very early last year, with ice on the guides within the first hour of daylight. My area fissled out in 4 weeks.

Lateral Line
Like 3rd week April, I was on the skunk and reports were north of me. There are other things to do 1st week may, than chase shad.
JosephTree
I wet a line throwing a double dart rig in Lambertville today. Water is at ~45F. I got not a bump, but it was a glorious hour or so. The Schuylkill warms up earlier and I look forward to breaking the ice for this season there pretty soon. Long Wader
Saw a report today that the shad are staging and heading up the Potomac, no word on the Susquehanna yet. ridenfish
They are definitely in the river now and well above Frenchtown. I've caught them early March above New Hope and I know a guy that like to be the first to get one. He has caught them above New Hope late February. I haven't been out yet but I just got laid off so I will have plenty of time

They’re already fishing for Shad at Easton
Long Wader
Check out Tin Man. He makes the best some of the best shad darts. The last shad spoons I found were at Dicks. One of my favorites rigs for white and hickory shad is tandem rig with a larger dart for casting weight with a spoon or tiny shad dart trailer.
