He's being a wiseass but yes I started noticing the line lay issue this summer.  I'll get a pic up today.  Meant to yesterday but the coming holiday has me going at a 100 mph.

lt could be tweaked some like removing half the thickness of one washer or less to drop the spool down, it's a little shy of line upfront, what lb test is the line? you could use some more line on the spool about what l have on my reel that is 40lb PowerPro, even though my reel is 175 yours should still look like mine if you're surfcasting.

Bob,  I do see an issue at the top of the spool.   Best way to know is hand put on the line.
