Was out on some ice putting in a Wood Duck Box with my father and what did I hear but some Red Wing Black Birds, They were high in some maple trees around the pond, I even got to watch one flashing its wings... Seems mighty early to me... This was in Winchendon MA, not far from NH...

This year it was this past Saturday, 3/6/21 in northern Middlesex County.

I don't keep track but I'm pretty sure I've had them in February in years past.

I saw them in marshfield yesterday. Heard them last week in Plymouth. My earliest is either the last week of February or first week of March

I saw and heard a huge flock of mixed blackbirds go over at dusk last night. Hundreds of birds. Grackles and Redwing for sure, probably cowgirls too.

Hah! Cow- BIRDS, not cowgirls. Thanks for the chuckle, spellcheck.:)
