Curious to see what you guys use for your bait and wait setups in different scenarios. I tend to use pyramid sinkers in the surf but lord knows I’ve had problems with them around oysters and such.

Depending on the type of fish that I'm going for will dictate what type of sinker I would be using ..For Fluke I usually use a bank sinker or an egg sinker, because it can be pulled easily across the bottom when you retrieve it. And for Blues and Stripers while dead sticking I would use a pyramid sinker because it holds bottom well..

Mainly banks for me.  But I do have some pyramid for fish finder rigs.

I don't fish alot of sandy beaches, so I don't use the sputnik at all.   But I cast alot of banks and my pyramid mold isn't the greatest, so I've been tossin around the idea of using some weed eater line "fingers" in some banks and ditching the pyramid all together.

Eta.  Forgot about egg sinkers.  I like those for light tackle fishfinder rigs.

Pyramid for holding bottom off the beach....a fluke ball or buck tail to drag across the bottom on a high lo rig off the beach

Usually flat banks that I have left over from boat fishing.  Sputniks if it's really a washing machine.

I'll throw frog tongues on too if I have them.  They are nice because you can set them, and reset, unlike the sputnik.
