Skf01
I fished three-four years for carp. I used to go to the lake on Saturday night and come back home early Monday morning. And without sleeping. I often caught two fish on average. I stopped because, it is long, too long. I prefer by far more lively fishing. Record. A common carp of 22kg. A sturgeon of 1 meter 12. And a Chinese carp of 25 kg. Plus a good fifty yellow eels.

Those are some big fish. Good catches.
Skf01
Sometimes I catch them. Especially from the end of January to the beginning of May... When the fishing for carnivorous fishes is closed in France. I fish with a lead ball with natural baits (corn, bread and earthworms) KarpsnKatz
McNizzles
Baited Saturday night and got a couple. Not what I was hoping for. Then Sunday this behemoth of a snapping turtle kept it quiet still. TJones
Haven’t done a lot of carpin’ so far this year, but had a fun visit to a local lake the other day… Two beauties! A 17lber and a 24. The 24 really burned some serious drag. Good times! They are beautiful fish!! justafisher, RonG, McNizzles and 4 others

McNizzles
Most difficult fish I’ve ever landed, sharky reel snapped at the handle a minute into the fight. Think I may have to upgrade, any suggestions for a solid baitfeeder that doesn’t break the bank? That was a 3000 with 15# braid, most likely my fault. The ugly stick is still going strong, no breaking that thing. KarpsnKatz, Skf01 and TJones

McNizzles
Had the rod propped between my legs most of it, it was extremely awkward and not graceful. Fish made a big run downriver at first and luckily lazily swam around the weeds on the other side of the river after that. Took six minutes or so, but was able to gain line using the rod then put as much back on the reel as possible. Toughest was getting the net, and making sure it could still freely take line. The fish I hooked 30 minutes before felt much larger and straightened my hook. 9 hours ago, KarpsnKatz said: Hand to hand combat at it's best! Good job gettin it done. Tom Rowe
Back in the day I fished for them in a section of Oatka creek directly across the street from the high school. The carp would actually eat the mowed grass off the bank making it very easy to find them. I would see the disturbance caused by the fish and cast a bread ball near them. Hooked up almost every time. I may have missed a few classes from time to time...I'm just glad none of my teachers looked out the window. The ugly stick is still going strong, no breaking that thing. Now that's sport fishing! I've already done some carp competitions. Short story. Three rods per rod-pod per person. Around three o'clock in the morning my middle touch sensor comes on. I strike, it's heavy. The rod is heavy, I have my wrist sprain that suddenly wakes up. I have difficulty, I call my partner, this one is unavailable, because he makes a gift to nature. I reel in the fish as best I can. This one leaves violently to the left, come back, go to the right. All our rods ring and signal a touch, those of our neighbors also. My partner arrives, the neighbors of left and right go up their rods. After washing his hands, my partner takes the rod from my hands. I quickly go to put some ointment and my orthosis. It pulls in all directions, a real mess. Finally after having coordinated with the neighbors, my partner finally pulls up a terrible bag of knots, a real carnage. He said "who is untangling? Weird looks from the neighbors. And the fish you will say to me? Record of the contest. 26 kilograms, a magnificent common carp. We won the contest and received as a recommendation not to come back to make a contest here. :-) KarpsnKatz, McNizzles and TJones
Tom Rowe
As luck would have it my youngest decided he wanted to catch a carp today. I brought him to my old stomping grounds…it didn’t take long. Not a big one but it was in beautiful shape TJones, DougK, KarpsnKatz and 1 other
