Fact is pal people with COMMON SENSE don't worry about BS like this. They go about their daily lives dealing with REALISTIC ISSUES. Like making a living. Putting a roof over their head. Looking out and providing for their families. Dealing with the real drama of everyday life.... not some idiotic imaginary drama dreamed up by "woke" liberals.

And now and then....when the stars align and all is right in their world.... they fish. They take their children to fish. They do this to have quality time. I guarantee you that not once... NOT EVEN ONE SECOND.... does this BS cross their minds..... AND IT SHOULDN'T.

I'm kinda wondering how Dr Seuss penned some stuff 70 years ago that states what is still today biological fact, or some guy creates somewhat obscure artwork in the form of small bits of feather and fur, calls them by mildly suggestive names, and these things are bad, very bad. 

On the other hand another artist creates a song that very graphically calls out a woman's most private parts in truly unmentionable and demeaning terms, right in the title, and not only is it recognized by both MTV and the American music awards, but celebrated as the best? 

Just don't get it. I don't really care what someone else says, does or thinks, that's completely their business.....but shouldn't there be type of......parity, maybe even........equality?

As I've clearly explained, I disagree with Jay's argument, but support his concern for sexism and misogyny in fishing culture.  Almost every post expressing "idiotic self-imposed outrage over imaginary beliefs" about the 'butthurt shemale pussification of America' and woke progressive culture completely ignore the underlying issue and conversation.

Assume youre referring to WAP.  Those wet privates belong to Cardi B and she clearly knows how to use them.  Nothing is unmentionable or demeaning in my mind.  I hear confidence humor and celebration of a great sex positive metonym for ownership and empowerment.  IMO you can communicate the same message with explicit or polite language.

Just re-watched the 1987 debate between Frank Zappa and Tipper Gore to level set myself. I'm with FZ, name your flies whatever you want. Illustrate your books how you want, or don't. In '87 FZ pointed out to Gore that there were much bigger issues in the country (in that case it was Iran Contra) than her content ratings. Apparently we have not progressed at all. There was also a Dick Cavet interview (this is all on YouTube) where they discuss the ADL reaction to his songs Dancing Fool and Jewish Princess. Nowadays he'd be fighting against the Religious Right and The Woke Left at the same time. Think I'll log off and see if Sheik Yerbouti is on Spotify, carry on.

My comments weren't directed at an individual just an attitude prevalent here. I'm 33 liberal and white and don't feel like a whiny indignant butthurt emotionally overwrought soyboy numbnut.  Are you old white and conservative?

The fact is the last time I fished with my female surfcasting friend, she told me a story of someone on SI who made her never want to go back to a spot I'm sure many know.  A guy set up down the beach, approached her and her friend asked if they needed help.  She obviously said no and moved around the point.  He followed them to 'show them a knot' which turned out to be a dropper loop even though they were both plugging.  Then while she was about to cast he wrapped his arms around her from behind to "show her how to cast".  I have enough common sense to know there are creeps everywhere and thats never going to change. Also enough to recognize sexism in our community is as bad if not worse than most.   Accomplished anglers like my cousin, this friend and Ladyfish should enjoy the sport as much as anyone else
