Is safe ice possible?

So, I figured with this weather we have been having recently I may actually get a shot at ice fishing a small local pond I have wated to try.

Do you think there is a chance I may actually get ice thick enough to fish in Jamestown by the end of the weekend?

I drove by Barbers in Exeter today and it had large open water patches.  Be very cautious in Jamestown or any pond in the southern part of the state.

Not sure if posting another forum on this one is acceptable but check out IceShanty.com

There are usually up to date ice reports.

Asking about ice thickness in the Shanty can be a fruitless endeavor. I don't know about the RI guys but the Ma and NH guys can be merciless.

In all fairness asking about ice thickness in a internet forum is not the safest thing you can do.

Get a spud bar and go check it is the only way to know for sure.

Strictly as a matter of opinion, I'd say NO WAY is two cold days enough to make safe ice in Jamestown after the warm winter we've had.

But that's my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. $00.00

Used to live right up the road from there.
