3Beard
All the tackle shops I've worked at had peg board walls.. We'd display reels by attaching them to reel seats and hanging them on straight pegboard hooks.. If you can't find enough cheap real seats, some pieces of pvc with hose clamps, or zip ties will suffice.. I’ve got peg board walls and about 20-30 reels most spin, but some cast thanks
cityevader
For a small number of reels, Romex electrical cable staples in a board work well.
Mono
Think wine glass rack. Basically slots that you can place the foot of the reel into, then rotate 90 degrees to hold them there.

Captain Ahab
I use the pile and scattered method. Easy to find as some line usually comes off and wraps around treble hooks on the pile of plugs. Just follow the tangle back to the reel. Of course it is never the reel I am looking for but sometimes I find stuff I forgot I even purchased so it's like Christmas all year round oc1 and sytheteacher 2 I fish fine look stupid

Mlima5
Usually i store mine by buying another rod i probably didnt need to put it on. Always gotta have equal amounts of rods and reels. If you find yourself with one more of either its pretty much law to go buy the missing half to go with it Captain Ahab
