Bob-That’s more poults than I’ve seen all summer.

I would think more than one hen for a flock that size. Looks like a dozen!

A little well fed redfin pickerel. Hard to believe this guy survives in a river full of pike.

His belly is probably full of invasive green sunfish fry.

Little trickle near my house has redfins in it, always get a kick out of catching them.

It's actually a freshwater sculpin, a native fish of our colder streams.

Allegedly the fly called the muddler minnow was supposed to look like a sculpin.

In some of the really tiny cold streams, sculpin and brook trout might be the only fish.

Interesting. I didn’t even know those existing. This was in the Cold River off of the Deerfield River. We found a few dead ones. The only other fish we saw were the small minnows with black stripe along their side. The water is really low.

Do redfins also live in ponds?  Ive never seen nor caught one before. Not even ice fishing. Actually, it's the first time I've seen one in a photo.

I'm not sure but I have only caught them in a few places and they were all small moving water areas.

The ones near my house have all been well fed like the one Mike posted. Remind me of mini muskies.
