slowroller
Snuck out for a couple of hours this afternoon, still low water, but we’ve had 3 days of cool temps and fog so gave it a shot. Swung a hobo spey and an egg sucking leech for an hour or so with no takers. A beatis/bwo hatch started and saw a few fish rising so switched over to a nymph set up with a pt and a bead head wd-40 and things turned on. Saw a monster steelhead launching out of the water to feed, so I put a cast right into the soft water above her and she smashed the wd 40. Having expected to tangle with half pounders, my 5wt got pushed to the limit and didn’t have the power to turn her. I almost wish I didn’t see that fish before she broke the tippet, easily 15lbs of bright chrome. Ended up with 4 half pounders on the day and a good story. Not bad for a Wednesday. titleguy
Walpy- it is a great rod. My beach rod of choice ( most of the time). Gets a lot of use on a beach near you. I would ******* LOVE a grave blanket.

A lot of fish I post pics of are from Central MA rivers. Some of them get nicely colored up in the Fall and Winter.
