Who's going to be the first

to toss a pencil on the outgoing tide .... maybe Charlestown Breachway in the New Year?

Maybe a few cast with rubber shads across the Narrow River?

Perhaps visit Providence and toss a few around the Hot Club?

Maybe Wood River if you prefer fresh since there's a little ice around ?

Do it fast. There's only 364 more days left in this year.

This reminded me of the time I went wading in the wood during the “polar vortex”. I caught a fish but I don’t recommend it!

Edit: checked the weather for that day: high of 10 degrees!

Could it happen again? Maybe yes ? .... without a lot of prep and work.

Pick some warmer day ... meet in the Narrow River Parking lot at Sprague Bridge.

There's always a chance of catching a schoolie there. Plenty of parking this time of year and proper spacing.

It's also more protected than meeting on the ocean front.

Just bring your own sandwich and drink. That easy!

the cannon part was a ton of fun. Miss those older days, was a fun group of great fisherman willing to share tips and tricks.  Got a great lesson on bucktailing the the channel that year by a wise member , and still use that today there and other locations.
