The knob on the C5000 FL is not EVA foam, it’s hard rubber. If you want foam look aftermarket like Gomexus. 0 Go to top

Sorry, shoulda been more specific. I was looking for the Shimano C5000 FL hard rubber knob. Would prefer that over a Gomexus knob. Wasn't sure if Shimano sold that as a replacement part. 0 Go to top
· #33 Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) · Report post To the op a 5000 is awful large for a 7' med inshore rod. I'd recommend a 3000. I stick with the aluminum reels. Edited December 23, 2020 by BridgeTender 1 Go to top

· #40 Posted December 25, 2020 · Report post Had an FJ and still going strong. FK was stolen at an inlet in Florida. Decided on the twin power for next open season as I wanted something different. Hopefully, won’t regret it as all my stradics did well. My son pulled in a Cubera while targeting snook on my stolen stradic 4K so was totally impressed. Unfortunately, I dropped coin already on an SW and he beat me to catching the first one out of the family. Still happy though. Shimano turns out great products. 0 Go to top

I stick with the aluminum reels. IMO it isnt too large. It is about same size as my spinfisher VI's. and perfect spool capacity for Albies etc. I have zero regrets on size choice... or any of it. I bought another one and put it on a duckett inshore MH to throw plugs and poppers. 0 Go to top

· #43 Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) · Report post Just got my Vanford 5k. It is smaller than my Stradic FL 5k in the same way that the Daiwa Saltist Backbay 4k is smaller than the Daiwa BG 4k. Edited January 20, 2021 by ljschroe 0 Go to top
· #44 Posted September 19, 2021 · Report post update: LOVE the Stradic 5k on the Duckett rods.... but just put one on a TFO MH 7'-6" Fast Action Rod. UNBELIEVABLE. Can't beat TFO's warranty 0 Go to top
