Hi all,

Is there a life span for braided line? I found an un-use spool of line, about 7 years store in my garage. Still can be use or chunk it away?

Maybe not the thing to do, but I'm still running some 15 yr old stuff.

I would not hesitate using new stuff found in a dark spot that was 20 yrs old.

Now if I tested some and it broke easly, I'd toss the whole thing.

I bought a spool of  1997 Fenwick iron thread a few weeks ago for nostalgia's sake......It works :)

I never knew they made alternating color braid 23 years ago....so i'm skeptical it's legit...

It's fine, use it. Test it first but wear gloves. I had some PowerPro on a reel for 15 years, fished in saltwater and left on my back porch...15 years. I kept 100yds of it on that reel as backing. Seems everyone here has 15 year old PP...that should be testament enough.

I can’t keep a spinning reel spool of braid for a year let alone 15. Between the frays, wind knots, and snags I lose too much. How the heck do you guys get 15 years out of it?
