They are making progress on the American classic out of Lynn.  Hopefully ready by 21 to pound Haddock!

I can't believe Jim is putting that much money into that boat.     Certainly not something I would do given the state of the fishery rules nowadays.     I wish him the best.      Met Kil Song for the first time on a winter wreck trip on that boat.

Lynn Ma.  Isnt there a GE Turbine Plant there ???, or used to be.???

Looks like a comfortable boat.

Big GE facility but I think they made bulbs.  One of the best boats you could fish on, with an excellent captain and crew.  Sweet ride!

I know:shrug:  Three new engines, new steering, two new gensets.   Complete paint job.  Gotta be huge $$$$$.

I was also on a couple of Kil’s charters, some great fishing for sure!

Oh wow, we had lots of great trips on that boat w/ Capt Jim. He was such a good Capt. I was always impressed w/ his power drifting. The last time I fished it was in pretty poor condition, but we left w/ full coolers. Did they ever do anything with the casino boat?

They got it up and running but then ran into some problems causing financial difficulties.  The casino boat was leased and the owner took it back IIRC.  That was a few years ago.

That's too bad. I wish Jim the best.

This thread has me reminiscing, between the American Classic & Eastmans is where my friends & were introduced to ground fishing.

Also, between the mates & fishermen, there were quite a few characters on that boat. I'll never forget a rather large and tall gentleman with an ironic nickname. After consuming enough alcohol to kill a horse, he'd lean on the rail with his back to the ocean and jig with the rod over his shoulder & catch more than my friends and I.

I look forward to jigging on that vessel again post-COVID (if there ever is such a thing).

Within the last few weeks the American Classic is back on the water. Not ready for charters but getting there. That boat will hammer the haddock.
