Best reel to pair with a 9’ surf rod recommendations on a good 9’ surf rod

I've got a new 6k Gosa coming tomorrow. I'm putting it on a 10'6" Lamiglas 1261. I've found that surfcasting and bait soaking are two different worlds and unless you plan on doing both, your best bet is to keep it as light as possible. I'm using a Tsunami Shield 6k on the Lami right now and it has been great. I started the season with a 9'3" Tsunami AW Elite paired with a bg5000. BG's are great reels for the money. I would go with a bg4000 if I had to do it over. Stricly because of weight. Everyone will have a different preference though. What ever feels best to you.

U think the 6000 gosa holds enough line? I see people with vs250s surfcasting that hold Tons of 30 lb braid.

I believe so. Again it's a preference, but 295 yds of 30# braid is more than I will ever need. Unless one plans on trolling off of a boat, I would think anything more is a buzzkill. I don't fish the canal or anywhere the water is deeper than 30', even then I tend to fish the upper columns. So I can only speak from my experience.

I just put a new 2020 6K gosa on a 9'2" Skinner Dark Matter rod from J& H. Nice light combo. I've caught a bunch of decent schoolies with the rod but before I received the gosa. Like the moderate action of the rod, still need to find some fish to check out the reel. It is smooth though, just haven't caught anything with it yet.

U really don't need such crazy big reels, 200 yds of braid will get it done everywhere. I generally use a 200 staal but I only really put like 200 yards of 30 lb braid on there. I think the slammer is quite heavy especially the size you are prob looking for, A saragosa should do ya just fine, So would a daiwa BG

Great advice. Thanks to all. At my location the Spheros and Gosa are not available to handle. I did travel this week to Raleigh NC on business too close to BassPro  and lured in the store. Most spinning reels in the 5000 and greater size were not in stock. Asking the sales staff they mentioned one 6k Gosa in the store. I handled it and thought probably a better Gosa size than the 5k for my application. Probably should have bought. Would have been nice to compare with a Spheros 5000 or 6000. I decided to just wait until stock show up again.
