I just bought a new Gosa and picked up a Stradic FL for my dad, in 6,000 and 5,000 sizes respectively. I agree with LD above. I’d consider this... both are light, but you’re looking at 9oz vs 16oz. That said the Gosa doesn’t feel that much heavier. If the rod you’ve chosen is super light it might balance better with the Steadic, but that said, the Gosa won’t feel out of place. Both are super smooth and feel well made, but the Gosa def feels sturdier. Do you plan on them getting wet much? The Gosa will be much more resistant to salt and sand, but if not getting used hard or you take good care of your stuff, the Stradic should be more than sufficient. End of the day I’d personally go Gosa, but they’re both really nice.

Hi John. I have a stradic 5000fl and I want to buy the new saragosa 5000 And I would like to know if the gosa  is bigger. It would be very appreciated if you show a photo. Thank you

Yes it’s bigger. Built beefier and weighs more. I’ll try to get you a pic tomorrow (both my reels are not with me at the moment). Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

Thank you appreciate

If I was going to get the Gosa it would be the 6k.  I see no point to the 5k personally.  Same body, just a bigger spool on the 6k and it's what like 0.1 ounce difference in weight.

If I was gonna do a 5k it would be the Stradic FL.  Want to upgrade it to the max replace the bushings for the bearings in the Stella if you want and what's not to like?  I have the 3k on a 7'11" Star VPR MHF and just got back from Florida where I fished surf,  inlets, and canals everyday 8-10hr day 8 days.  It got put thru a wave or 10 in that time.  Fresh water thorough rinse at the end of each day.  Cracked it open...completely dry.  Was not cranking underwater but it sure got submerged a few times and pounded by waves walking out for casts.   Reds, blues, ladyfish, whiting, sheepsheads,  puffer, and catfish  lots n lots of catfish grrr.

The stradic sw is not a US model just in case that matters.  Not sure how Shimano USA deals with warranty work on international or JDM models if you are in USA.

I’m pretty sure that they won’t deal with any warranty or service issues with the international or JDM models. So buying one is a bit more of a risk

Find a shop that has both of them... bring the rod, strap them on check the balance.

I am totally NOT up to date on the latest models, but the 'Gosa was always marketed as a sealed reel while the Stradic was marketed with sealed bearings...

Oh yeah... I do have both, and have gotten wave crushed with the 'Gosa on many occasions and it still workes fine with a simple rinse.  I would not dunk it to get the sand off like my VS, but it has held up very well.  My Stradics are all on the boat ...
