Drive by the Worcester rail yard.  Couple trains loaded with tanks:eek:.    That really catches your eye.   Drive up to take a look, all had rubber tracks.

Curious timing, makes you wonder?

Word is that rubber tracks are more efficient, durable and quieter.

And to add to your curiosity, it was recently announced that Fort Devens is also targeted for a machine gun range.

Does make one wonder.

Someone shared these photos from Facebook. This was taken in Lowell. Looks like it's heading for the bone yard or for a target range? I would kill to have a photo op sitting on one of these.

There was a Twitter post about it. The consensus was that they were motorized howitzers, at least the vehicles in the posted photo.

Look like M-109s

That was the Twitter consensus, M-109 Paladins. 155 mm gun.

I wonder if “Have Gun, Will Travel” played a part in the name.

If I remember correctly 3 of those things make a battery, 12 a battalion.  There looks to be well over a divisions worth of artillery there.  Makes me think its an order delivery and not a troop movement.

Bingo.

:point:

I wish I could believe you guys were joking but, well, I've been to the PG forum.

The silliness, oh the silliness.

Because they will need a train load of decommissioned obsolete artillery to discourage the proud boys from disrupting the celebration in the streets.:howdy:

Seriously, they have been replaced. Just look how old they are. They're rusting in place. They're 30 years old. They've got to be going to the boneyard.

Lol, artillery for street protests.

Keep laughing......

Besides, your post has at least two things that are absolutely wrong.

But that is for another forum, not here.
