30-40lb main

50-60lb leader

I fish the rocks mostly, so I'll go as high as 80lb on my leaders. Fishing off the beach you can get away with a lot less but you're asking about fishing off and around rocks, so I'd go heavier. I get less break-offs using heavier line/leader and stripers aren't particularly line shy, you do sacrifice casting distance though.

Thanks also what do you recommend for a leader flouro or mono?

I am in NH and spend all of my time fishing the Piscataqua. I have always been shore bound and spend most of my time throwing sub 1 oz plugs or rubbers and use 20lb braid with a 30lb fluoro leader and have never had issues.

I like 30-40lb mainline depending on how dangerous/ hard it is to land fish and 50-60lb leader

You use mono or flouro for your leader?

I’m cheap. I use Big Game mono. Mono or fluoro that is actually made to be used as leader material makes a huge difference though. More abrasion-resistant or you can use 80lb regular mono or fluoro.
