Here are a few pics of an original Tony Sr. Mr. Wiggly that he gave me (never used). I remember an aluminum needle that Tony Jr. made (I have one somewhere) that cast like a bullet and caught well.

I have the same one..swam just like an eel..the stuff he made was unreal...he once took a 9 iron and stuffed it up his 9' rod to make it stiffer...every night after fishing the beach he'

d run around and take everyone's dead eels to fish with the next night.

the two needles you have he'd put them on a card and sell them at local shops..the eastham dump was his favorite place to shop for plug wood.chairs, tables anything that was free.

Was he one of the first to use that scalloped effect ahead of the eyes?

The first that I know of and I have some that go back 35 years or more. Tony Sr. was like the Ron Popeil of fishing tackle. He was not afraid to try anything and often times it worked. I have seen him catch more than a few big bass on things that I would not have ever considered using. He made a number of metal lipped swimmers that were nothing more than an old wooden necklace with progressively smaller balls towards the tail. They swam like a snake and caught fish, although not the most durable. I am sure that Capesams has seen these as he is right on with his assessment of Sr's plug making ability and style. Though not as gregarious as Jr., he was also a truly a classic in his own right.
