Stetzko Needles

Got the needlefish bug lately and it seems pink needles are hard to come by so I recently grabbed a couple of Tony’s 2.5oz in pink from Ebay. Anyone know if he wired through and also looking for some opinions on how they fish compared to other brands?

I have a few of the big pink ones.  I think 3oz.   No trophy’s on them yet but plenty of small fish.  They really Kiel threw the water nicely.  Very level and stay under the surface.  Pretty unique look in water compared to other needles I have. Not shur if I trust that flimsy Wire/ hook hanger tho.  We will see I guess.

I have a couple and I’m too nervous to use them because I don’t want to lose any. They do fish nicely with a teaser as do SS and Lemire’s if you can get your hands on them.

Always surprise on a double!

Those needles are great.  I knew and fished with Tony for a long time.  I have a nice stash of his needles. :) They are through wired. They also have a really nice subtle roll when retrieved, which I am not sure most people realize..

That’s Lemires

I read about how Tony used teasers and swear by them.

His record bass fell for a small teaser fished in front of an eel.

That’s right and we all have spent many nights on the surf chasing the dream.

25 maybe 30 lbs but she took the eel.

Did he do anything different when retrieving the eel? Twitch, pause, etc?

I have weighed on an official scale but not that fish. The rod is 10 feet and I am estimating the weight based on length of 42 inches to where the blue color design is above the reel.

How do you like to tie them on, for the best roll? Clip, loop knot, or tie direct, or ... what?
