Gear Checklist for this Weekend's Surf Fishing Tournament

Hi everyone,

 

I will be taking part in the Barrier Island Beach Brawl this coming weekend.  It will be my first tournament and I would appreciate some advice on what to bring along.  I will have my truck on the beach, so I am not limited to what I can bring.

 

Any and all suggestions are welcomed.

Think about ALL the possibilities for your intended quarry and make a list! I’m going out east Saturday morning in a friends truck, making a list right now!

I always go with the backpackers saying. " Pack everything that you think you will need, then take half of that out."

Another lame tournament with little to no results? Never heard of it.

I think they said they had 5 bass caught and released - winning blue was 4.5# or thereabout.  I hooked up twice on Friday before sunrise. I was ok when I lost the first one.  I cursed the ocean when I lost the second one.  That night I had a hit, but missed it.
