Folks what are your feelings regarding some form of gutter guards. Read many reviews that they are a waste of money and not worth it............not to mention they are extremely expensive. Quick check they are more expensive that the new gutters I plan on having installed. As info I have a two story home and many trees. Appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks.

The foam filter type suck.  Great if you want a moss farm.  I have some gutters with expanded aluminum strips that tuck Up under the shingle and are screwed to gutter edge that work great.  Stuff slides off as they’re inclined

I had the company that advertises on TV to come out to my place on the Cape...they would install them for $4000 !!! I almost crapped when I heard the price. I spent less than $250 on the Costco website and installed them myself. High quality, easy to install, and they keep the pine needles out. Once you register, they send you a little brush you can attach to a pole and sweep them off a couple of times a year. No brainer.

There a waste of money if you have trees.  The leaves, twigs and other things that fall off the tree fall on the roof and come down on the screen at the edge of the roof line and that clogs the screen up.  The rain goes right over the screen after a while and then the gutters get all mildew. Black and dirty.  The best thing to do is remove the tree and then you won't need gutter guard.

My two cents after dealing with them over the years.  And I installed a lot of gutters over the years.   NoTrees, No Problem.

I Have the aluminum "k style" ones. They were on the house when I bought it 8 years ago. I say they're awesome. Last year I pulled them up in a few spots to see if the gutters need to be cleaned but they were Damn near spotless. My neighbor doesn't have them and he has to clean out his gutters twice a year.

These are the style that I have

Gutters should be offered with gutter guards for a reasonable cost. They are expensive, not sure how effective. I have a ranch style house so its only around 8-9 foot high, twice a year, takes about 2 hours to do it right.  Worth $1500?

Got similar

$600($6@ft installed by contractor when I put in new roof 2 years ago.
after I fell off a ladder(no injury) while cleaning and getting bit by a Yellowjacket(anest)... Vowed never to get up on a ladder or go on roof again.
Either hire some one each year or Get the guards. They work .... my house has woods in back.

Remove the trees and you will not have problems............sorry for my laughter..........why have a yard/garden and enjoy what nature presents.....maybe a concrete yard and hard landscape........
