Major Injuries Rampant

Agree. Lots of players out for the season already. Sad really. Ravens lost Young for the year with a knee injuries. He seems to be injury prone. Has not played much at all since he was drafted. Promising player but at some point you got to show it on the field consistently.

Lots of fantasy teams being disrupted early in the season. Might as well bring gambling into the picture at some point lol.

Some people are suggesting the it's the result of the very limited training camps and limited preseason

Doubtful, perhaps humans can only get so big, strong and fast before things bust. These guys are in condition 24/7, maybe not used to the contact but still in shape. The collisions are similar to being in car wrecks all night, if your lucky enough to walk away your brains are probably scrambled.

Let your kids play soccer or even lacrosse this football business in todays world is made for those with the tools, how some of the smaller players survive is amazing, again being reckless and crazy doesn't hurt.

You ever notice how some players are able to get tackled but never really get hit?

I'm not suggesting.  It is obvious they need better and more pre-season training and a couple of pre-season games just to get the engines started.  Hell, the Eagles lost half their offensive line before the season even started.

Years ago I was discussing this with an older Physical Therapist.  He said then that the new athlete was sacrificing flexibility for strength.  Mentioned all the athletes will have big issues with strains and pulls for seemingly minor efforts.  Boy was he correct.

Also consider how many players maintained a consistent workout regiment during the off season?

I'm sure some of them rushed to try and get back in "playing" shape and started working on creating the injuries that they have/will have suffered during the season.

You either keep in shape during the off season or try to "catch up" in short term and overly stress your body, creating a "ticking time bomb" injury waiting to happen.

Of course it could spell the end of a number of careers, opening up positions for the practice squad players to make the teams?
