Penn Battle III 4000

Just received mine - geez, I am impressed! Obviously, I haven't fished it yet but I am still very impressed with the design, features, feel, and overall quality. I still have - and fish with - all of my old Penn SS series spinning reels, which I still love, but this new reel is really nice. I put it on a Penn Carnage II 9' 2-piece medium light - it feels pretty darn good. For the prices of both, I am surprised.

I will follow up in a few weeks after I get near the water!

I need a 4000 size asap.  Just saw TD has the battle II for $99 but really looking at the spinfisher vi 4500bls or the battle III if it comes with the football grip.

Battle III knobs are as follows:

The 1000 has a small paddle.

2000, 2500, 3000, 4000 have a new t-knob

4000hs uses a small ball

5000, 6000, 6000hs, 8000 use a large ball

10000 has a football

Zen Master -

Thanks or the kind words, looking forward to how you like it after getting it on the water

Thanks Ben,

Any idea if we can swap arms from a spinfisher 6500 to the battle 4000

Ben

It took longer that I would have liked to finally get fishing with it (I live 3-hours from the water), and, I could not fish as long as I would have liked (not the best weather), but I could not be happier with the rod and reel.
