Heavy Lamiglas rods

Don’t know why guys bash theses rods as old, heavy, with out dated materials

Dropping off a GSB 1201 L built with 7 double foot K’s, no reel seat, and shrink right on the blank.

Weighs 10.5 oz.

My own version with real seat and paco fore grip,  2 double foots and singles the rest of the way is 11.8 oz.

Black Hole doesn’t have any rods this light except the Suzuki.

Century doesn’t list what their rods weigh, I’m sure they are in the same ballpark.

CTS ? Maybe lighter?

St. Croix?

These are all two piece rods.
Lamiglas 2 piece blanks are lighter than the one piece for the most part .

I wouldn't say Lami's are heavy at all, but the statement above is not true.

I just built a Striped Bass Special 10' 3/4-4oz; shrink on blank foregrip with EVA rear hand grip; NPS reel seat 10 double foot guides for all up weight of 8.5oz.

I didn't weigh the blank 1st and I did a minimal build to save weight, so I would say around 4.5 maybe 4.8oz?

Despite appearances, Japanese shrink is heavy, I stripped a 5' section of shrink off a Century heaver and weighed it - 3.5oz.....
