And casting test ;)

Compared to the old Shimano Saragosa...

And what NOT to do with your new Saragosa SWA... Lol

For those curious.

The parts that make up the sealing at the clutch, including the cap, screws, seal, and clutch itself are identical part numbers to the previous generation.....That's great and sucks at the same time....It's a tried and true method of keeping water and debris out...while retaining that Shimano feel...But it ain't pushin any boundaries.

I added a reply Shimano left on the unboxing video.....I'm pretty sure they didn't see this video.

They didn't put X-shield on the box...(which was boldly displayed on the previous generation)..which is why I was unsure :).... )

You should have done a reel underwater test separate from the casting it out test. How deep was water you casted it into?

Sad that you have to service the entire reel!

Why did u not remove water on rotor first before opening it up?

The little drop under the spool?  wouldn't effect anything...

Glad I saw the Youtube live reveal. Great job showing the 2 versions. I'm replacing my SSV 5500, which has taken a beating of dunkings, as long as I service it and coat entry points with Corrosion Block - yes it's tighter, but I like the VS in that manner.  However, the SSV is just too heavy.  Wish the Gosa came in a 14oz model, oh well, perhaps the SW A 6000 is the ticket.

How do you suggest preparing the SW ii it's going to get dunked (not reeled) often out on sandbars to minimize water and grime penetration?

It would have been epic if it survived that!

But at least it survived the traditional dunk test so it's not any worst.

FOR REEEAL!

I had high hopes for sure...

I think it survived the cast splash and soak.. But the hard cranking killed it.
