I have a neighbor who raises and trains pups for the disabled. Talking to her yesterday she said her dad is retired K9 cop which started her interest in dogs as more than just pets. His idea is for all the people who want to defund the police to submit all their phone numbers and all their family's members phone numbers to a national data base. The list than can then be provided to 911 operators nation wide to place on their ignore list. That way one a call comes in from one of these folks the police don't respond. "No tickey, no laundry."

The police only exist to protect criminals from the common citizen.

Without them, justice would be delivered on the street.

Boston recently released the overtime bill to pay the cops to work the protests  that called for defunding the police.  Needless to say their strategy is not working.  The ultimate irony

Except there is no need for extremes in either direction and, frankly, you assume both extremes here.  When local police outpace education in virtually every city and town there is something extremely wrong.  Why not just defund the police to an extent to fund other important endeavors?

Well ,if you could use the money to teach people it's wrong to steal, loot, and  assault others and they actually listened then okay, but considering Portland, Chicago ,Minneapolis among other cities look like war zones I'm going to say defunding the police at this time isn't a good idea.
