Fishing Atlantic City and vehicle security

After spending a few hours in AC today and seeing those jetties it brought me back to the old days in Monmouth county. Anyway I wanna fish AC in the fall but I’m concerned with vehicle security, I can’t just go with one rod so should I be conserved with break ins  or fishing the night tides?

I haven’t fished there in a long time.  I used to park in front of the Flagship and never had an issue.  Keep your head on a swivel out there. There are definitely some shady characters around.
I had so many good nights with big bass and tide runners out there. I miss fishing those rocks.

The north end of AC is not a good area not only for cars but for people. I haven't fished that area since they built the newest high rise there, I think it was originally the "Revel", now the "Ocean Resort", perhaps the area has spruced up. If it were 1990, you'd need to carry to go fishing.

I wish you luck and success.

Me and my buddies fished it all the time when we were young.
I guess living in Philly got me used to being in sketchy neighborhoods.
I actually befriended the dudes that fished on the boardwalk.  Tossing them a few spike Weakies helped too.  They knew me and my fishing buddy as “ the guys with the big net”.  We used to carry a two piece net for landing the fish.
I might revisit it this fall.  I have so many great memories there.  I sight casted big Weakies that we’re cruising on top and in the lights at the pavilion. .  My biggest Bass off those Rock was 45” and I’ve had a few on while targeting Weakies that I could not stop.

I’ve had trouble in Atlantic City. Fishing the jetties on the north end late night. People wanting to fight just for being there. But there were some nice guys too.

Best to go with a partner. Bring only one rod per person, park in a casino garage and put all valuables in the trunk. Bring a back up light, a small air horn ( like boaters use ), a good fishing knife and be very aware of your surroundings.

I fish it all the time. Early morning never a problem. Crack heads don’t usually mess with fisherman cause we usually have knives and spikes! Stand your ground and don’t take no sheet. You will earn some respect! Now if you think your going to stop ppl from keeping short fish, you will run into trouble trust me. I have called F&G Often they don’t show up in a timely fashion. It’s a culture there. There are many good ppl there of all races who will help if needed. I like the guy who tows a trailer off his bike made of a wheel chair and A bird cage. I can’t take the TRASH and leave by 9. The new wall and brdwlk are really nice, shame it gets trashed by scumbags..

Park in a casino garage/lot and walk to the jetty/beach, never leave your car unattended in AC, I have had my car broken into a half dozen times in the 35 years I worked in this shythole, only parked on the street when I was running late. Bring a buddy to watch your back as well.

Sounds like a place I never need to go to again.

l hate going to places like AC to fish you need eyes on the back of your head there is no fun fishing like that you are never at ease until your driving out down the road.

Has it gotten that much worse?  I used to fish there before all the fancy houses went up next to the Flagship.   It looked like a wasteland then.  I haven’t been there in probably 15 years though.
