I have a G- Loomis SUR1266S, 2 piece, rated 1-5 spinning. I met a few people who wanted to buy my rod. They said they love the 1266 blank. I know a few rods use this blank-1266-GLoomis, FSC, and All-Star to name a few. What is so special about this rod that I have?

Can someone explain the obsession?

Are all 1266 blanks similar?

They are not. Each company has its own idea of what a “6” weight is, and 126 could be 12’6” or 10’6”. Loomis’ tend to be fairly fast, which is a less common action for surf blanks.
