and a set of calipers.

Who can pop the spool off and take a measurement of the thickest part and thinnest part of the main shaft?

I have a 3500....but I want to see if they upped the gauge on the NEW BG MQ 6000

Thanks in advance!

Hi Scoob,

if you are referring to the flat sided portion of the shaft, it’s 2.45 mm consistently. If you are referring to the rounded portion, the base is 3.99 mm and becomes 3.74 mm on the threaded portion (I presume this is actually 4.00 to 3.75 mm).  Let us know what you find out. Thanks

I assume the 2.45 is the part that keys to the drag washers?

Thanks man!

If you plan on popping the sideplate before 10am tomorrow.....The drive gear diameter would be a bonus....I only ask if you had plans on it....please don't jump through hoops.

Sadly I only had a 3500 bg on hand for the comparison...

Outer diameter is 36 mm on the dot.

I’ll be expecting my Tackle Advisors swag in the mail :-)
