Stripping Bucket??

Rate this topic

I’ve been using a stripping basket while fishing off my skiff. It’s not that bad but the other day I decided to bag the basket and just let it coil on the sole of the boat. It worked well enough but I did step on it a few times and it got wrapped around stuff on my outboard a few times.

Could you guys point me in the direction of a bucket or something that could live on my skiff.

Thanks, Tom

Even a Collapsible Leaf/Garden Basket.

I made two stripping buckets to use on my 16' skiff out of short, flexible plastic square buckets from Target (I think?).  I put a piece of foam flooring in it with long golf tees sticking up through it (the kind you buy at Home Depot that lock together for basement/gym floors).  They were really cheap and work great. The buckets look pretty much like this one...

I always fish with a basket boat Or land boat way to many things that can happen step on the line the main reason dirt grime on your line wrecks the finish and guides on the rod.

And if you have to make a very quick cast then decide to turn around and cast somewhere else it’s just a hassle and lots of missed good opportunities can occur from not using something to catch your line especially if you fisn for any type of tuna fish.
