If you're intrested in 7' plus J Kennedy Fisher blanks I have 2 of them I've been told they would be great codfish rods.

I'm on the North fork. PM me for more details ...

Looking to have standup offshore rod built. Can anyone recommend a rod builder on longisland? I'm not looking for the "finest" just need the rod put together for a fair price.

So, you want it cheap...

Realize, all the guys with the necessary skillset are saying 'no thanks' and the guys that don't have a half a clue are saying "i can make a few bucks'....

I think you need to be more specific about what you are looking for in a rod.  There are to many variables that have a direct impact on the cost:

 - Type and Size of fish being fished for.

 - 30-50, 50-80 lb

 - Bent or straight butt

 - Roller or ring guides.

 - Quality of the blank

 - Builder's experience and knowledge

JMVHO.

All that is handled.  I have all the materials and a sample rod I want matched. Just need someone to wrap it. No fancy designs, silver under wraps and black on top. Probably just gonna end up doing it myself. I've build rods, was just not interested in throwing the time at it.

So, you don’t want to throw the time at it but you want someone to be reasonable?

What is your reasonable price to wrap it?

$100 I belive is fair. Its 4 guides and a very simple butt wrap.

This rod should be under wrapped and doubled over wrapped.

Roller guides?

Even if you do one color this will be at least 6-8 hours work with 3 coats epoxy.

For $100 don’t think you will get a good builder. Plus by having all the parts the builder can’t make a couple of bucks on that to off set labor.

Think you might be better off to do it yourself.

Anyone who would build an Offshore Rod for less than $250 labor is a jackass. IF you give them the parts and they charged you less than $300, they are an even bigger jackass
