Nauset? How bad is it?

I don't think of the nautil as top of the line, but its a fine reel for your intended purpose.  they go for about $100 new but open box on the bay.

Nothing like those banana handles on the nautils!

Is an oversand permit worth it?  I've got a 4runner that I would love to take out there, but it's 206 bucks!  No weekly permits available in nauset.  Looks like the beach is open from the birds.....

Encouraging info. thank you very much.
I am bringing the gear.  Man some of it is old, is the Mitchell Nautil 7500 still considered top of the line? I've got one brand new, still in the box...

As for the canal, I think the strangest thing I ever saw was a sea turtle swimming by the fish pier.

If it works then have at it. Just avoid Area 51...bad hombres tend to gather there.

Hi all, I have a friend with a place near Priscilla landing I stayed at for a week and a half. Was out kayak fishing all but one day. Most days I was in nauset, but a couple of it in pleasant. Was catching lots of fish. I even got into a crazy inshore frenzy inside nauset marsh area last year(being purposely vague) and had 3 fish on at the same time and it was just me there, freaking exciting. Had some lines trolling; it was awesome. My dad and i used to fish out of nauset and pleasant bay for maybe 12 years straight starting in the early 90s. There were bad days and there are definitely more seals. but it was still great when i was there last september.

The question i have for ya'll who've been there lately, any non resident town landing parking allowed before sept 15 anywhere for pleasant or nauset? Where would you go if you were kayaking the cape these days(nauset?, pleasant? bass river? brewster?) Have they closed landings or posted closing signs cause of covid? I expect the town landings are still only resident parking till sep 15 this year still, yes? doesn't bother me still great fishing then and less people. anyone ever get citation or towed for that withotu resident sticker? Wanted to get down there next week for some fishing and hit up hole in one for some breakfast, but didn't want to make the drive if there trying to shut down. So many good memories fishing all that area.

Tight Lines.

Been absent from the boards or a long time, but still read and try to catch up from time to time.  So nice to see some of the long time posters still contributing to this site.

My family demands have really cut into my saltwater fishing.  My 45 year old self should have told 25 year old self to fish longer and harder...

I am headed to the nauset beach area with my family and am gonna dig out my gear and give it a go.  i know there are sharks.  I know there are seals.  I know it's not what it used to be, but there have to still be some bass or blues around there right?  How bad is it?  I haven't fished or honestly been to that area in years....

I fish alone, don't post often or much at all anymore, I'm not looking to spot burn.

How bad is it out there?  Is it even worth bringing the gear?  Any advice, updates, or sources of info. that I should look for are very much appreciated.  Happy to exchange PMS or emails.

THANK YOU

Stroth

Fishing that area I will post some pics:):)

Ive been fishing the most seal infested waters now, gotten mugged 4 times so far this year, but i havent seen any correlation with bass being absent when seals are present, nauset should be good right now

Moon tides flood the back trail in areas. So,if you don't mind the rust issues have at it.Wet sand is salt sand.

Thanks for all the info!   Much more encouraging news than I thought.

I’ll have at and hopefully post some updates.  The oversand access has limited time windows so I don’t think it’s gonna work with my family.

JJ18, you got me it wasn’t top of the line then, but it was to me.

Carl, great to hear from you and see that you are still actively posting.
