My wife picked a small batch of red boletes the other day while walking the dog.  They're already dried, and in a jar to be eaten on the Holidays.

I'm fairly sure that's a chicken of the woods look alike. True chicken of the woods usually appear in the fall, and almost always grow on decaying wood.

Laetiporus cincinnatus, a pale chicken variety.

Agaricus campestris, Meadow mushroom, or Horse mushroom.
