19 posts in this topic

Was thinking of launching in Winthrop tonight. Anyone kayak fishing the area?  I’ve been doing ok with tube and worm and al gag whip fish in hingham harbor but haven’t been able to convince any of the big girls to eat.

any tips or suggestions?

My suggestion to you is to try the other "local" New England Fishing Kayak sight here for more help in your area to fish with.

They're a pretty good bunch to hook up with for beginners to novice kayak anglers.

You'll learn a bunch from them and probably make some friends at the same time.

I know I did.  You're in a terrific area and once you get the lay of the land it'll blow your mind.

Have fun and always wear your PFD at all  times!  Keep 'em tight.  Fly

the pfd never comes off and I forget it’s on most of the time. It’s the radio that’s attached to it that constantly gets in the  way while I’m casting.

I here ya.....

Try tucking it in between the PFD and your chest.

That works for me.

Figure it out, you'll find a way with experience.

Good luck.  Fly

Some serious rips off the jetty at deer island.

It looked sooooo fishy but couldn’t get any action last night.

bunker/pogies  for day’s. Nothing harassing them. They even would come up to the kayak to check it out with the lights on them swim away.

Anyone seeing bluefish. I haven’t seen any in the harbor yet?

That’s what I ended up doing and actually end up doing that with lots of  things like sunglasses, radio, snips, cell phone.

Must be what is like to be that chick that just jams stuff down her bra.

Yup.

Always remember......less is more.

If you don't need it on any given trip....doesn't need to be on the yak.

Seriously .....make sure you know the weather, T-storms roll in real fast in that area.

I lived there for a spell and did some time in those waters.

It's a great place for kayakers....have fun.
