A 13-year-old South Carolina boy fatally shot one burglary suspect and scared off a second with his mother's gun, police said.

The unidentified teenager told the Charleston County Sheriff's Office that he was alone on Tuesday afternoon in his family's home, north of North Charleston, when someone tried to break in, according to NBC affiliate WCBD.

The boy grabbed his mother's gun, and then waited at the back door of the home, the station reported. Police say the boy fired repeatedly through the door, and someone outside shot back.

https://www.wgal.com/article/pennsylvania-state-police-investigate-death-of-9-year-old-boy-in-waynesboro-franklin-county/33248191.   They're charging the 13 year old with murder but they're not charging the parent or guardian or whoever the hell left their gun lay in the living room with anything as of yet???? This isn't a five-year-old story either current up-to-date news.

Still a feel good story. A mother teaches her kids to protect themselves. Kid had to make a hard choice to use but by the sounds of it, they were caring too. Saved his life.

What happened to the kid?

No way he was convicted, the kid is scared out of his wits and the perps are violent enough to shoot back while attempting a burglary. Good shoot for the kid.

What’s wrong with leaving it in the living room? How are you going to defend yourself if you can’t get to your firearm in a timely manner. That’s why people carry.
