Fishing spots - social media w/o rules

It has been a while but remember getting on a very popular channel on the VHF and was talking to a friend. It was SUPER crowded where I was at and yet nobody was catching anything. I had confidence that the tide would change that and to wait it out. Well, I told him I was at another spot (well known) and crushing it. I was in awe when more than half of the fleet started up and left within 5 minutes with a another 25% to follow. It was a like a train!

Now, picture what this looks like on social media when you have several days of it and up to thousands of eyes anxious to get a spot handed to them. Yup!

On the other side of it as already mentioned, it is better to enjoy the chase and ability to search for your own / explore on your own. Just like hunting and those asking for a hunting spot. You are quicker to understand that one as it seems most hunters are far more protective of their spots and the loss of access is an even bigger issue on land.
