Poor ole buff.

Nobody wanted to fly formation with the ole girl............. :(

The wake turbulence may have factored into that.

Low, slow, and clean.

Not............

"Low, slow, and clean" refers to the optimal conditions for wake turbulence.  Low, where the air is more dense, slow as in below 300 knots, clean means the landing gear is not down.

Any aircraft caught in the BUFF's wake turbulence would be blown around like windchimes in a hurricane.
