Supertramp, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Who, Steely Dan, Genesis, Alan Parsons, Queen.

They made songs that were productions (ie Fools Overture).

Are there any contemporary bands that produce songs like that?

Friends argue that Dave Mathews is the modern incarnation of the technical prog rock type genre.

Phish?

nah for both....nothing Tech or prog or whatever about them

Jam bands would be closer ....

Those bands listed from the OP's list were pretty much all 1970's darlings....

Others from the 70's

Styx,

ELO

Jethro Tull

Kiss

From the 80's

Iron Maiden,

 Queensrÿche

.....90's

Soundgarden....Audio Slave,

At The Drive In,

Metallica,

Jeff Buckley

More recently

Wolfmother,

Iron Maiden (still going),

Highly Suspect,

Greta Van Fleet,

Mastodon,

Foo Fighters.....Them Crooked Vultures

QOTSA

Some of these bands use some production maybe not on the level of Floyd but there's definite elements nonetheless.

Just a few that came to mind.

Phish.... hmmm more of a jam band like The Grateful Dead  or the  Allman Brothers.

Geez if you think the Allman Brothers were a jam band, you shouldn't be listening to music.

Not a ‘jam band’ but a band that will go into a long jam song.

No, there's a difference between dueling leads playing blues solo's and a long jam song.

Kinda Tim Burtonish. I like it.

Another one. Off of The Stage. Whole album is a weird production. Very different from their earlier stuff. Neil deGrasse Tyson wrote and reads the monologue at the end.

Long song.
