Went out yesterday for a quick trip. The temps here have been hot as heck, running 96 with heat indexes of 114. So it wasn’t going to be a long day or long paddle day.

Caught some singles today. Redfish, sheepshead, snook and a fish I don’t have an iD of. Then the fun began, lots of bigger mangroves. The bigger ones have moved in. No cooler with me to keep the snapper.

Lots of small baitfish around.

Beat, i caught a pigfish a few weeks ago and it is definitely different looking. This one I haven’t looked yet.

Looks the same.  Granted markings and colors can be lighter or darker and dependent on age.

Yup, that’s it. The picture hides a lot of the distinctive features of color.

First picure is a Knobbed Porgy. No minimum size, 100 lb bag limit. Never caught one or tasted one.

Second picture is a Sheephead.

Third picture is a Redfish.

I don't want to be contrary beat. I'm quite familiar with porgies (scup), having lived much if my life in Long Island .( BTW, I'm in a similiar situation of having several custom Lamiglas  surf rods in 10-11 foot range ,that I'd like to sell ,) Anyway, I 'm not familair with a Knobbed Porgy., buy I have an app where I can take a picture of a fish and it identifies it. I've found it accurate at other times. Maybe it's right, maybe not,
