I might just use it to help hold the Trax to the boot as well. FizzyFish 1 "Ban Pre-shredded Cheese, Make America Grate Again"

Skeeterbait
Whatever glue you use - surface prep is the most important thing for adhesion. Clean off old stuff. Scuff it up with sand paper if possible. A wipe with rubbing alcohol and have at it. Ā And a flat head sheet metal screw or two or ten down from the inside should help.Ā Just adds a new spike. Stripsettter
I epoxy everything including old wading boots. Epoxy it and use some clamps or a weight. Ā Clean surface first Shag 1 No Bait. No Barbs. No Buckets.

SC
Barge Cement is what many shoemakers used to use. I've done similar projects using it and it never let me down.Ā
