VSX 250 feeling dry

Looking for some help/input.

Used the 250 7-10 times this year and everything was going well. Then one night i didn’t rinse it off till the next morning, say 8 hrs with no freshwater. Now the next time i go out and use it, its sticky for the first crank and feels like there is no lube for the rest of the night.

This is the second time this has happened to me. The other time was on another 250 and the bearing where the pinion goes in and out had suffered some corrosion and seawater had made its way in. This time however, the bearing looks fine.

Thoughts?

Open the reel-check the lube if the reel has grease clean it out--fill with oil-the oil will let you know if you have a seal leak--rreelman

You have to find a person with knowledge of your reel or send to company to look at the reel-look locally for a shop that works on your reel and that they are certified by Van Staal--rreelman

put a drop or two oil on the side cover oil seal.

put a drop or two an the pinion oil seal, you would need to take rotor off with hex on four screw .

try that first.
