A little story for you builders....a lot of years ago we had some friends who had a house on block that we use to go visit once and a while...one late afternoon I took a short walk across the street down a path to the water known to them as the south west corner...at the end of the path stood a lone older man holding his rod staring out over the water..what was hanging from his rod looked odd so I asked him what in the world was the plug..he looked at me and said "a bic pen"? told me he'd buy a box of pen's and pull them apart so nothing but the body was left..drilled a few holes in it ...one for a swivel and one for lead..through wired..he then looked at me an said "best dam fish catching needle there ever was" he turn around said have a nice day and left.

HeyCape Sam You must have been talking to the redhead(in earlier days) as I gave him a few and as far as I know I started it with the bick clicks.

Only have two left. One black and one white.

They were killers back in the eighties for shore walkers along the bay.

I posted an article about these 'Sharpie' pens a few years back.

Post was titled 'Lures from trash' or something similar.

Wired through with a piece of lead shape of a boat hull epoxied in the belly.

On a slow/steady retrieve they have a built in 'twitch' every couple of foot.

Cast like a bullet run 2/4 ft deep depending on speed of retrieve.

Had good success at times with the green/yellow.

Hi Lonellr,   long time no see, when you coming back up to the canal?

I've still got the superb darter and eelskin plugs that you gave me and you also gave plugs to every other Troll at one of the our cookouts couple of years back. Thank you.

      Saxon.

Hi Saxon!

I would love to get up there this fall, but who knows. You're very welcome for the plugs. Everyone was so great and made myself and my friend Peter feel very welcome. When I come up I hope we can share a tide or two! As for the sharpie plugs, they look fantastic! I will definitely give the build a try! Thank you for the photos.

Lonell
