vce12342000
Got my 1st fishing net in over 40 years of fishing without 1. I had tried a net when I was 10 year old kid. It used to get tangled up alot with the hook & lures. So it turned me off to using 1. The new materials of the nets of today dont compared to yesteryear for sure. Purchased a detachable magnetic base also to hang it on the back of my wader hook strap. takes a little to get used to. Put with practice Im sure Im gonna like it. Fished it today. I had a personal guide today on the river showing me where all the trout where hiding . You know those dont get skunked. Best of all I didnt have to pay for it. Flip n Dip and KidDkivahh 2 I live to fish. Not fish to live. I fish because things in my head tell me to.

I learned that one day a long time ago while sitting by the stream and eating a sandwich. I watched a heron pull out a nice trout for from water I’d never considered fishing. I dropped my sandwich and immediately start fishing that section of river and did very well. vce12342000 and KidDkivahh

Flip n Dip
That looks like a really nice net. The netting material looks really good, won't get hooks stuck in it and won't harm the fish. When fishing in a river, having a net is a must. vce12342000

chuckbucktail
they're good for the fish. hand landing a 16+ can add a bit of stress to the fish since they can manage a little last minute bolt and get things all tangled up. conversely, hand landing a fingerling-10" fish is quicker, therefore less stressful on the fish. if you keep it barbless the hook more or less falls out once the fish is in the net and the line tension is released. vce12342000
flyrodder44
Newatit: Unless the Great Blue is fishing in your fish pond. We have that problem a couple times a year. Unlike the Kingfishers that also visit us, the Blue is easier to see!

I was a kid fishing for stocked trout and saw that heron pull a trout out of water I stupidly and youthfully thought was to fast for trout. I learned a valuable lesson that day about trout lies / holding water.
chris L
I dont use a net either . Dont like them for many reasons . I own 3 ,even a new one with plastic netting . Never carry one on me but there is always one in the vehicle . Have never lost a large fish due to no net . Follow the birds is right in freshwater too . Watch for eagles in trees and fish those waters . vce12342000
