Tidal rivers are open, spot, croaker and specked trout seem to be everywhere. Let’s hear some reports!

Out yesterday evening for a few hours. Couldn’t get a hit. Nobody else seemed to be doing too well either.

This pattern seems extremely similar to last year right when I got back from overseas. You had to get them super early in the morning or super late in the afternoon when the tide was just right. Water temps went up from 67 to 73 in 10 days. Last year I wasn’t doing too well until the first week of July, then it was hit or miss until late August. We’ll just have to see.

try a new location think oyster beds or grass beds

Last summer the spot were mostly small, unlike previous years. Curious the spot size this year.

It’s been a mixed bag from what I’ve been seeing. Some around 5” and some up to 10”. Last year around mid June I had a few 11” and slightly larger.

Unfortunately I was unable to make it out once again, but my friend saw massive schools of bunker on the surface this morning at dawn. Nothing bigger than perch and spot we’re willing to hit. Will report back when I head out for myself.
