Early season fluke in montauk

Heading out to montauk this weekend to finally get out for some fluke fishing and wanted to see how some of you guys approach fluke fishing when the water is cold early in the season. Bucktails with gulp definitely still produce but was wondering with the water still on the colder side do some of you use bait and have more success then bucktailing?

Good point Paul. The ol spearing squid combo may work better when the temp is under 60 as is. Can't wait to see some more experienced guys reply. Ill be out there fluking in M on Saturday too - barring the weather of course. First fluke trip of the year for me. Lets catch em up!
