I built a 7’ heavy bridge rod and have yet to use. On occasion I take it off the rack and bend it.

I just prefer longer fishing rods.

for economic version rods,

6'8" Black Hole Charter Special slow pitch rod and 7'3" Black Hole Charter Special rod.

Blank weight of the 6'8" is 3.3 oz and 3.9 oz for the 7'3".

They redesigned them in 2016 so i can't comment on them since then, but my black St Croix Avid medium heavy has been though the wars, we're talking abused, fishing from up top of the bridge as well as under it - and is still going strong.

Want to be like 200 dollar range

Then, I can recommend 6'8" Black Hole Charter Special slow pitch rod or 7'3" Black Hole Charter Special MH rod.

What’s up guys. Looking for a new rod in the 7 foot range. For throwing buck tails and soft plastics off the boat around the bridges.  Targeting stripers

what do you recommend?

So you are really looking for a 7 foot boat rod right?

You do not need (or likely want) a rod with a long butt.  I have a 7 foot st croix tidemaster with upgraded guides (the factory came with single foot) to double foot K guides that i pair with a 'gosa or saltist for this kind of work.

Rod is a med action and casts lighter stuff up to about 3 oz really well.  Since you are on a boat you can use much lighter bucktails and such.

I see this rod used all the time and is worth a look.

Added,  i have thevsame rod in 8 foot.  This is my fluke rod when i am using spinning from a boat.

EX1020S70E is the model of a very nice Star Aerial E glass rod. Rated 3/8-2.
