I visited the beach just to see the surf, which was impressive.  And damn near up to the main building.  When I first started driving there, the beach was a third of a mile from pavement. That's gone, the very nice boardwalk that was once there is gone  ... I think one or two more hurricanes and both the main building and the Flight 800 Memorial are gone too.

I didn't bother to try to cast. The wind could knock you flat and the lateral current along the beach would have been absolutely lethal, far beyond what you could manage by casting upcurrent.

I have been slaying blues mostly about a mile west on the south side of the bridge with a few schoolies mixed in. Also with the right tackle there are weakfish there as well to be had. I have not caught any weakfish myself but this one regular has caught quite a few this season.

GLHF mate.
