Storing sand worms

I picked up sand/sea worms from a new place tonight for flounder fishing tomorrow and they came in clear plastic airtight containers, like the ones used for food storage. Should I transfer them to something else? Just poke some holes? They've always come in cardboard or styrofoam when I've bought them in the past and I know how fragile they can be.

I leave my sandworms outside on the balcony in this weather. Last time the wife opened a box of salad, she almost made sandworm salad. You will need to keep them moist and poke a few holes. Good luck with the flounders.

I left the lids cracked and they did just fine. I caught a couple stripers while waiting for the tide to turn, about to toss out my flounder rig and set a drift.
